PEACE: INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE: THE UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS
The International Day of Peace, celebrated on September 21, celebrates the 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
In his 1979 address of to the United Nations, St. John Paul II spoke on human rights ("Permit me to enumerate some of the most important human rights that are universally recognized"), which clearly echo the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
(NOTE: January 1 is the Roman Catholic Church's World Day of Peace; a feast day dedicated to universal peace. 2019 will be the 52nd Annual World Day of Peace.)
