On September 27, 2017, Pope Francis launches the Share the Journey campaign from Saint Peter’s Square. On that day he will invite everyone around the world to “Share the Journey” with refugees and migrants.
This 2-year public awareness campaign is to promote opportunities and spaces for migrants and communities to come together and share stories and experiences with the aim of strengthening the bonds between migrants and communities.
Share the Journey promotes “the culture of encounter": Increase the spaces and opportunities for migrants and communities to come together and learn about each other.
Passionate about migration and interested in what’s happening in our world? Share the Journey is where you can make a difference at all levels.
Contribute to the building of stronger communities and more inclusive societies.
Through this campaign, our Church hopes to dispel widespread fear of newcomers and to raise awareness of why so many people are compelled to leave their homes at this time in history.
In collaboration with the annual celebration of Respect Life Month in October, the U.S. Catholic bishops invite your participation in a kickoff week of prayer and action for “Share the Journey,” October 7–13
