CRS Rice Bowl is sponsored by Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and the Archdiocese of Portland. This Lenten solidarity program is conducted in Catholic parishes and schools throughout the archdiocese.
75% of funds are used for international relief and development projects.
Through the CRS Rice Bowl Small Grants Program, 25% of all money given is made available for projects within the Archdiocese of Portland that address hunger and poverty. MEMO
The requesting organization must be located in the Archdiocese of Portland.
The request must benefit those who suffer from hunger or poverty. Beneficiaries must currently reside in the Archdiocese of Portland. Grant money may not be used for salaries or wages.
The project and its leaders must not be in conflict with Catholic moral and social teaching.
Organizations’ activities must not engage in partisan political activity.

Applicants must demonstrate a willingness to collaborate with the Office. Please state how your organization is or will be in relationship with the Office of Life, Justice & Peace.
